Things have been changing in my life recently…

I’ve learned that I feel at home in other cities and not so much my own. I can’t wait to travel this year. I’ll be leaving for Sasquatch this Friday, booking my South East Asia trip in a couple months and will try to sneak in another trip before that.

I have someone in my life who I’m pretty stoked about, he’s not a boyfriend though…and we’ll just keep calling him the Victoria guy. I went to visit for a few days and had a blast!

…

I’ve been re-evaluating my friendships with some, removing dead weight and gaining people in my life that are a strong support system. I’ve felt more positive since not having contact with a few people. I’ve learned that these people and how they act is toxic and aint nobody got time for that.

I feel so thankful to have built a few new friendships with people who have been a very strong support system for me. They’ve heard me talk until we are all blue in the face and they keep me in check. Thanks guys!

The Outfit:

Anyone close to me knows that this romper has been my go-to piece since I purchased it. I can’t take it off! It’s so easy to wear with it’s simple silhouette. The search for the perfect black silk romper has been a bumpy one for years. I never found what I was looking for until stumbling upon this one at Aritzia on a random “I shouldn’t be shopping” day.

Although I wear it with flats and a denim jacket for a casual day, wearing it with some edgy heels like these ones makes it a little more fun for a night out.

Roland Mouret x myself

I found myself in a hilarious conversation with Kendra of Van City Pretty the other night. We ended up on the topic of parts of men we find attractive. Some women are into backs, butts, shoulders, legs and those drool worthy V-lines. I on the other hand, of course like backs and v-lines but there’s something about a man’s wrist that draws my attraction! Weird, right? Kendra thought so too.

If you agree with me, then you’ll understand why I think it’s attractive but for those of you that are thinking “Randa, what’re you high?!” lemme explain…

I don’t find it attractive when a guy has thin looking wrists, to me it doesn’t exude strength and power. When he has a nice defined wrist, and yes it needs to be a certain thickness to me it shows that he’s strong and can take care of me.

The thought is now totally bizarre that I’ve typed it out and read it out loud to myself but I’m stickin’ with it! Do you have any strange parts that you’re attracted to?

The Outfit:

I purchased this top before I left for California. I thought it would be the perfect effortless top to wear for a night out but could also be worn causal like in this outfit. I also wore it with denim shorts and sparkly sandals. It’s a little hard to tell in the photos but it’s actually a cotton candy type of pink, but slightly more muted. I tucked in the front to show structure in the shorts and give myself a waist but left the back un-tucked to show the detail and let the slits flow.

In one of my last posts I showed you my evening spent with Almay Canada and today I’m going to show you my newly acquired Almay products that I can’t stop wearing! If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that my makeup bag got an entire overhaul and I’ve switched out previous coveted beauty products for my new ones. I know it’s a matter of time before I start to mix them in with my other favourite brands but right now I’m sticking with what I like.

My new routine:

1) After washing my face I apply the Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer. This smoothes and colour corrects my skin and removes redness.

2) I apply a small amount of Smart Shade CC Cream (Complexion Corrector) this is instead of my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, or if you use a foundation. – 300 Medium

**I’ll admit, the first day I loved the combination of the two but the more I used it the more I realized it’s not for my skin (as a combo). The mix of the primer and CC cream started to flake on my skin looking like dead skin shedding, not a good look. I’m going to continue to use the primer because it has made my skin look a little better.

Erin from The Sparkle gave me a hot tip: Wait 15 minutes after applying the primer before I apply the CC Cream.

3) The eye shadow set, eyeliner and mascara have all been chosen for my brown eyes. Purple really makes them pop so naturally the shadow is a set of 3 shades of purple, the mascara is yes.. purple! When the mascara is applied you’d never know it’s a colour but it does something to my eyes that makes them more bold. The eyeliner has sparkles in it to catch the light and make my eyes gleam. – 411 Trio for browns | 031 Onyx | 031 Plum

4) The Liquid Lip Balm is AH-MAZING. Not only does it taste and look good but it moisturizes my lips and fills in all the creases. My hair doesn’t get stuck in it like other sticky lip glosses. – 400 Lilac Loves

5) A light brush on my cheekbones with the Smart Shade Blush – 10 Pink Rose

END OF DAY: Remove my makeup with the oil-free towelettes THEN wash my face with my regular face wash. I’ve been using them every night for 8 days now and my skin is looking a little better, I’ve been able to remove all the makeup instead of leaving little bits here and there that my face wash could not remove.
