I’ve recently had the pleasure of getting into the closet of one of my favorite fellow Vancouver bloggers, Marisa Joy of Style Rhapsody! I was thrilled when she agreed to let myself and photographer Kaoverii Marapon explore her “tiny closet” as she likes to put it, but believe me when I say that her closet as tiny as it may have been was jam packed with plenty of goodies! Her cat peanut joined the fun and made a couple appearances, just like a true scene stealer would.
Marisa’s blog Style Rhapsody has her readers swooning over the chic outfits she puts together which always include some shine, sparkle and a statement piece that is easy for anybody to wear. With her two year old daughter Charlotte being quite the fashionista as well playing with all of her mom’s clothes and jewels it translates onto her blog with her celebrity mommy and child outfit segments…cue in baby fever all over again! Oy!
“I haven’t worn this outfit yet but after putting it together for this shoot, it’ll definitely be making an appearance on the blog!”
“I like to store my costume jewelry in vases and macaron boxes. Some of my favourite pieces are handmade treasures from Etsy, and my Chanel No.5 I See Noise print provides the perfect sparkling backdrop for my jewels!”
“Anyone who reads my blog knows I love to wear sunglasses. My husbanded gifted these Prada beauties to me for my birthday when we were vacationing in Palm Springs. All of the jewelry is from H&M. I don’t know what I’d do without that store; I’m pretty sure 70% of my closet is H&M! I hate the cold but this pretty knit sweater from Zara almost makes the Winter chill enjoyable. My Spike the Punch necklaces are two of my most prized accessories, especially since they’re notoriously difficult to get your hands on because they sell out in minutes!”
“I fully embraced the coloured and printed denim trend the past few seasons, just like I did back in the 90s. My regular blue denim are now in the minority! From classic stripes to fun horse heads, I love prints because they’re a great way to add a little texture and character to your wardrobe.”
“Does my cat, Peanut, count as an accessory? I like to think he is, just like the orange tabby in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
“As Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.”
“My husband got the Louis Vuitton bag for me for my birthday when I was pregnant, and he said that when I’m in labour, to just think of the bag so that I don’t blame him for the pain!”
“I scored this neon pink dress on the clearance rack at Urban Outfitters for only $7! It’s my best sale purchase to date.”
