Closet Confessions: April Kapchinsky Vancouver Fashionista

During a daily finger stroll on Instagram I came across a follower I had that seemed to love my photos. Her name was BellaVancity, I clicked on her Instagram account and darn… it was private! She had quite a few followers and I was starting to become intrigued as to who she was. ACCEPTED! I had be accepted to follow her and I immediately started to scroll through all of her photos. I was stopped in my tracks when I had seen a photo she snapped of her closet and that’s when I knew…we had a major Vancouver fashionista on our hands!

I knew April’s closet would be good, but I didn’t realize how good it actually was until I saw it in person. She has one of the most thought out and colorful closets I’ve seen to date. Everything had a home, every piece was taken care of and boxed. Shoes were stuffed at the toes and bags displayed like a boutique. This girl had some major style going on and I can’t wait to share it all with you.

Besides being stylish April has her own blog to share her fashion thoughts and shopping habits. Check out Chic In Vancity and follow her on her style adventures!

“Good-bye 2012! I will be rocking in the new year with this sparkly number!!”

“I like every pair of shoes to make a statement. Whether they’re your basic black pump or a strappy golden heel, each one needs to have a little something special.”

“More sparkles the better! You can never have enough accessories ;)”
“Rings, the finishing touch.”

“The REAL housewife of Vancouver… lol”
“The right clutch/evening bag completes any outfit.”
“All kinds of shoes for all kinds of feelings! I am definitely a girl who dresses for her moods. I don’t believe you have to be limited to one type of style.”
“Yes, the jeans are categorized too! I am really loving the coloured jean trend this fall.”
“Over this past year I’ve acquired more blazers because of their versatility. My favourites are bold colors and animal print.”

“I love this sequined blazer because it highlights my eyes.”
“I love to color code my clothes. Not only does it make my closet look pretty, but it also helps me choose my outfits.”

“Shoe hanger for my everyday pumps.”
“I got this earring organizer at HomeSense, love how it displays my earrings so that I can easily pair them to my outfits.”

“Definitely went through a Juicy phase…”

“Holy handbags Batman! Louis Vuitton is definitely my favourite.”

“The perfect Christmas shopping outfit! Cozy with a sparkly twist.”

“One of my favourite pairs of shoes. Tri-metallic YSLs, purchased at the most amazing outlet mall in Lugano, Switzerland.”
“Gotta love Blubird scarves! and Zara and Club Monaco… Add a pop of color to any outfit.”
“I’m a very visual person and like to have my make-up displayed.”

“Went to Austria to experience the Sound of Music and ended up with a bag… Fabulous!”

 “These boots were made for…”

Colder times call for warmer measures

How was everyone’s weekend? I had the pleasure of celebrating the birthday of one of my dearest friends, Megan West of The Pointy Toe Shoe Crew! We had an interesting dinner at The Parker in Strathcona and then hit up HouseXGuest in Gastown for late night drinks.

I popped in for a quick visit to Blubird on Alberni street in Vancouver, checked out the latest product and a little chit chat with the lovely and fashionable associates. I picked up the red scarf you see in todays post. I first saw it on Twitter and then in the closet of the latest closet confessions (coming this week!) and had to have one! They make for great gifts for your girlfriends too..hint hint…Christmas gifts!

We have had some beautiful sunny days in Vancity this weekend! BUT that doesn’t mean it’s been warm, it’s been freeeaaaking cold! It’s about time I brought out the tuques, scarves and gloves. I bundled up in todays post with lots of layers. A cropped sweater under a chambray for texture, then the light jacket for warmth (but not too much, I’m layering) then the scarf for warmth and color.

Club Monaco cropped sweater, pyramid ring | J. Crew jacket | Joe Fresh chambray shirt | H&M bag | Charlotte Russe shoes | Suzy Shier gold ring | bone ring | Michael Kors tuque | Blu Bird scarf

Thanks to Leonie for snappin some photos :)

Mix and a-mingle with the jingling beat

Happy Holiday everyone!

I’ts been a while since I’ve done a look of the day post and I forgot how much fun I had putting them together. Since there will be a ton of holiday parties happening around now until the middle of January, I thought it would be perfect to start some party outfits.

When I saw this Dorothy Perkins top the entire outfit came together in my mind. I like mixing a peplum top with a skater skirt, it adds layers and accentuates smaller areas of your waist and legs. Instead of a classic pump (which would also be lovely with it) I decided to go with a leather bootie, I think it adds a younger edge to the outfit.

Obviously, what is a holiday outfit without the sparkle!? The Dorothy Perkins clutch was perfect and ties in with the sparkle from the Lulu Frost for J. Crew studs.

What will your holiday outfits look like this year?
