I have to say…the single life is freaking hard. I myself am a relationship girl – I don’t really enjoy the song and dance of meeting new people and seeking out who likes who and playing games that don’t need to be played. I can easily get mind f**ked, I’m sure some of you can relate to that. I’m on my 44th day of being single and it’s definitely had it’s days of being fun but it has had its down days. It’s a bumpy ride but the unexpected has been exciting. You single ladies feel me right? But enough of my ranting, I hope everyone on the East Coast is doing okay during Hurricane Sandy. I can’t imagine what it must be like to live through it only seeing images and random footage but my positive thoughts are going out to you!
Onto the outfit! We all have our go-to outfits and for me a dark denim and on the cold days a chunky knit sweater and my leather jacket. It’s easy to throw on and the accessories are what make the outfit “cool”. I added the low heel bootie for a slight edge and the scarf and bag for the colors. This is the kind of outfit you throw on in the morning and it will take you everywhere all day.
OH! aaaaand Happy Halloween! I didn’t celebrate it at all this year and I didn’t feel like I missed out on anything. Could I be growing up? ….Nah!

In my old apartment Eric and I went the entire year without decorating. Seems impossible, I know. I had little decorative objects here and there but nothing really came together as a whole. This time Eva and I are trying to get the apartment together with mirrors, artwork, candles, decorative trays, etc. Thank goodness I live in one of the best neighborhoods for home decor - tons of inspiration and great product! I took a little walk the other week so scout out some pretty things for the home and here’s what I have on my wish list.
Tocca Candles – The Cross Decor & Design
Tea light candle holders – The Cross Decor & Design
Mini vases on top of a driftwood candelabra – The Cross Decor & Design
Totem pole mugs – Fine Finds
Self-lit candles - Bernstein & Gold Interiors

Have you ever been emotionally, verbally or physically accosted in a way that makes you tell it as a story for the ages? I feel like every time Megan and I get together we have the most hilarious stories about being accosted in some way or another. In fact, during our day together we were accosted by a questionable man and his friend who reeked of alcohol and had what we suspect was a stolen camera… which they said they used to take a photo of us, which led to me losing my sh*t telling him to delete it. He never took one.
A few weeks ago I was stopped by a man on the street named George. Needless to say, if he was any indication on what dating is like in this city I don’t want any part of it! It’s a good thing that my jewelry doubles as weaponry. In the words of the scouts – “Always be prepared!” I was never a scout but they seem to know what they’re talking about so I’ll go with it.
Speaking of always being prepared. I didn’t get the memo that not wearing a jacket with sleeves is no longer appropriate for the weather outside! A sheer blouse and long vest makes for a great looking outfit, however it does not keep you warm…. at all. I did a bit of color and texture mixing for today’s outfit. I started off with a darker and edgier pallet and then added on the neutrals with the vest to warm it up and not be so cliche with the edgy pieces.
