I’m excited to say that on August 30th Lyndsey and myself are hitting the road and are taking a fun filled road trip toooo….. Edmonton! Yay! Okay, I know it doesn’t seem like the most exciting place to go but my other fashion half is getting married to the man of her dreams and I must be there.
According to the world wide web it’s estimated to take 12 hours from Vancouver and since Lynds is a science geek I know she’ll have plenty of cool info to throw at me. I can’t hike without her telling me about trees and moss so I would love to know what she knows about the Rockies! Also, its estimated that from Edmonton to Toronto its 1.5 days? If that’s true I so wanna do it! Then 3 hours to NYC from T-dot… I’m gonna stretch this as far as I can… I mean come on, imagine the end of Summer sales going on in New York!! Shopping brain.
Wearing: Express dress | Zara heels | Blair Ritchey clutch c/o | Club Monaco bracelet | Stella & Dot necklace | O.P.I. A-taupe the space needle polish
You may remember this dress from my a small preview on the latest shopping finds post. I picked it up during the Express grand opening here in Vancouver, it reminded me of a DVF print. It has the slip attached to the inside which is perfect because I would most likely lose it and it’s easy to wear. The bright green is perfect for the sunny days and I feel like the darker blue could be great for the fall with some brown boots.
I paired it with my favorite Blair Ritchey clutch for a brighter color and to tie in the gold of the hardware and necklace I’ve added the sleek gold shoes. I have smaller shoulders so I like that this dress widens them, creating a smaller waist.

Oh how I wish I owned this dress!!
When I saw the details on this dress I thought it would be the perfect dress to feature. I think a lot of us girls can see something they like in this dress whether it be the relaxed shape, the color or beautiful details and sequin. Since the dress is so special on it’s own it doesn’t need a lot going on around it. I wouldn’t suggest a necklace or earrings (maybe studs) but for the jewelery add a bangle or a natural stone ring just like the one below.
The grey shoes pick out the silver in the sparkle and the shade of the sunnies with the canvas bag all connect with the “natural” feel!

If you follow me on Instagram or remember my old “Snippets Of My Life Part 6: My Closet” post from ages ago you’ll know that I have quite a large jewellery collection…it’s kind of a problem, but a really pretty one. Lucky for you guys who live in Vancouver I’m selling some of it during the Vancouver Blogger Sale in August!
I’ve had plenty of questions on where I purchase my jewelry stands and since eBay and flea markets are sort of a hit and miss I thought of the perfect place for you guys to pick up some fun items for accessories – at Ikea!
I snagged this great desert stand for only $9.99 and it’s a very creative way to display your favorite jewels if you have a small space to setup like a shelf or bedroom dresser. Not only is it cheap, easy to display but it’s pretty! Plus, you can swap the stones for cupcakes and it’s just as easy on the eyes!
Ikea had some other great items for displaying your favorite accessories. Just spend some time in the kitchen and bathroom sections and use your imagination, I know you have one!
