When I started the blog back in 2008 I didn’t see it showcasing myself in my own outfits. I started with the segment “look of the day” that covered an entire outfit from images taken off of Net A Porter. Slowly but surely the thrill of putting together inter-web outfits started to fade and I wanted to showcase my OWN style. After many comments and feedback from all of you I decided this year to photograph my own outfits, I should have done this a loooong time ago!
Funny enough, looking back at my outfits I thought I would for sure have the “oh whaaaat was I thinking?!” moments, but thankfully I didn’t… *wipes brow*, phew! I did see how my style has evolved even in past 8 months and I can’t wait to see what kind of style explosions I’ll put myself in next.
Thank you to everyone for your comments and feedback via the blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on my outfit posts. I’ll be sure to pump them out for 2013.
A HUGE thank you to Leonie and Megan for taking my photos for me. You chicas are da bomb!
Closet Confessions was a segment on the blog that I had been working on since 2010. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that I was able to put it all into action. It is my favorite feature and one that I intend to continue for as long as I can. I seem to be obsessed with knowing details about others lives… thank you MTV and the world of reality television. Whenever I go to a friends home I like to take a look into their closets, see what’s new, what my favorite items are and how they display everything. My closet was always my favorite place in my home.
After many failed attempts with scheduling conflicts I was able to photograph my first closet, and the ball started to roll. I couldn’t ask for a better group of fashion forward friends to feature. Thank you all for giving up your time and allowing myself and photographer Kaoverii Marapon to enter your homes and invade your closets – we are truly appreciative!
While I’m on the topic – an even bigger thank you to Kaoverii! She has executed my thoughts and ideas in her photographs like nobody’s business. She is such a talent and I am honored to feature her and share her with all of you.
Here’s an A-Z recap of this years 10 features – which one was your favorite? (click on photos to see full feature)
I can’t wait to share more closets with you in the New Year!
It’s been one week since I’ve posted anything and to be honest with you, it’s because I haven’t been inspired. I don’t write just anything on the blog, that’s not why I do it. I write because I hope that what inspires me with also inspire you!
I’ll be back in about a week or so, maybe less with some new posts. I’ll get back into outfit posting and I’m excited to share my weekend with you that I spent with Megan West, Kenton Magazine and Jacqueline Conoir.
Stay tuned and Happy Holiday!
